Even though our barn is still under construction, we have a good store of grass hay set aside for the winter to keep our horses and your creatures fed.
2019 Organic Grass Hay
This is first-cutting valley grass hay from our north field, baled July 14, 2019. It is mostly fescue with some bentgrass, ryegrass and orchard grass.
We hand-weed the field before we cut, as well as throughout the year. No herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers have been used on our fields since at least 2016.
This is what we feed our own horses.
2-string bales, averaging about 70 lbs. each. The bales are not especially tight, so they are a few inches longer than normal.
